A number sequence uniquely numbers documents generated by Susan.one.

To review all number sequences, navigate to **Settings** > **Number sequences**. Once there, youâ€™ll see a list view of all available number sequences.

To add a number sequence, follow these steps:

- Open the number sequences list
- Click
**New** - Fill the following fields:
**name**- name of the number sequence**start date**- date, when number sequence is activated and can be used**end date**- date, when number sequence is deactivated and can’t be used**number start**- from which number the sequence starts**number end**- from which number the sequence ends**prefix**- sequence prefix**leading zeros**- how many leading zeros sequence number has**current number**- what is the current number (must be between start and end number)

- Click
**Save**

Leaving **current number** blank will set current number equal to start number

Number sequence prefix also supports date elements. Following elements are available:

[m] - short month

[y] - short year

[Y] - long year

For example, prefix **[Y][m]** will combine current year and month elements, and generated number sequence prefix result is **202106**.

To edit the number sequence, follow these steps:

- Open the number sequences list and click on the number sequence
- Edit the number sequence fields
- Click
**Save**

To delete the number sequence, follow these steps:

- Open the number sequences list and click on the number sequence
- Click
**Delete** - Click
**Confirm**on the confirmation dialog

To use a number series, it must be associated with an existing user. Please look here, how to do it.
